City of God is a testimony of what a city can look like after God’s Kingdom comes to it. It is a story of how God will transform hearts and lives; and then increase vision to believe that city transformation is more than a Biblical and historical story, but the desire of God for today. You will be inspired, but more importantly, given insights as to how to make your city, the City of God.
Some years ago a Pastor from Brandon, Manitoba impacted a young woman at an impressionable time in her life. She then had a chance to visit Sierra Leone at a difficult time in the nation’s history and on her return, introduced a contact she had made in SL to a veterinarian from Ontario. That veterinarian was Conrad Van Dijk and the young woman was Lorna Dueck – the now CEO of Crossroads Christian Communications & 100 Huntley Street.
There is struggle and sacrifice in the work of global kingdom transformation. The price for salvation is high. But we press on knowing that the prize is greater. Eyes have not seen and ears have not heard how wondrous is His love for us. The price is most definitely worth it.
I am often asked when I come back from Sierra Leone “Are things getting better in SL?” I believe that slowly and surely things are improving but at a rate that is not as fast as we would often prefer.
We truly are in a time of rapid advancement of the Kingdom of Heaven and incredible things are happening so fast it’s like a blur.
And while that has certainly been the case here in Canada, the Transform Our World Global Conference spoke to me that it’s not limited to our nation. The presence, application and acceleration of the core principles of transformation is happening in communities around the world.
