Dear Hope for Sierra Leone friends,
I hope you are enjoying the warm summer weather and finding time to spend with family and friends. We want to provide you with a brief, mid-summer report on our work in Sierra Leone. Let these reports inspire you by seeing how you are helping to shift a nation from a deep struggle with corruption to embracing integrity and hope!
Ministry growth through CLI partnership
Our partnership with Commissioning a Lifestyle of Integrity (CLI) has strengthened our ministry efforts, and together we see incredible potential for ministry growth. CLI is the perfect complement to the transformation message, a strategic means to fulfill the mission of seeing the nation of Sierra Leone transformed.
In other words, Hope for Sierra Leone/Transformation Sierra Leone explains the “why” of national transformation, while CLI provides the “how”.
CLI uses the influence of small groups (or cohorts) to bring grassroots influence to all areas of culture. Check out the CLI website for more information. You can also read a report from Desmond Johnson about the ongoing work in SL in our recent posts.
Fall trip to Sierra Leone
We are in the midst of planning a trip to Sierra Leone later this fall. Our plan is to take the message of transformation to new communities and continue to encourage the many cohorts that are now meeting all over the Freetown area. Look for our next full newsletter in September for ways that you can support this important work.
On personal note, Conrad continues to work through some challenging heath issues that have hindered his ability to travel. I have been working closely with Conrad to see the work continue to grow and flourish. It has been exciting to see how God is orchestrating events and enabling the work to continue.
- Continue to pray for Conrad as he works to regain his health and ability to travel
- Pray for Desmond and Hickmatu Johnson as they give their full-time effort to the on-the-ground work in SL
- Pray for continued positive response to the message of transformation and integrity, and the work of the cohort groups
I would also like to add my thanks for your faithful support of the work in Sierra Leone. Your generous donations are making a powerful difference in the work of national transformation.
(on behalf of Conrad Van Dijk)
